  • Iowa vs. Ohio State

Saturday was really fun.  Adam and I went to Iowa City to tailgate before the big Iowa v. Ohio State game.  It was very exciting, everyone wearing gold, and talking big about a possible victory against the #1 team in the country while ESPN and ABC watched.  Phrases like "melrose magic" mixed in with the beer to create a jolly crowd.  We saw many friends and some family from Chicago and enjoyed great food.  I love people that tailgate with big tvs, great music and food...and invite me!!  :)  Adam and I didn't go to the game because tickets were starting at $250 so we watched it from home.  Even though we didn't win, it was a great game and happy memories made.

  • Wait, NOT announcing a pregnancy...

I should clarify my news.  After a few phone calls I should tell you my (potential) news is more in the job category, not reproductive.  Sorry to disappoint!  Ha, I didn't even think that is how my last post would be interpretted-oops!  While not the pregnancy you are thinking, this new development could be the birthing of a new role for me.  I hope to hear whether or not we got the grant within the next week.  I hope, I hope, I hope...

  • Mysterious Big News to Come

Oh, I have big news.  At least I think I have big news.  Time will tell but I have some real hints that this is happening, it will be big...and I'll tell you as soon as I can!  In the meantime, enjoy the tease and think good thoughts. Woo Hoo  :)

  • Loss of a generation.

Tomorrow Adam and I will go the funeral for a childhood friend's dad.  He died suddenly in the middle of the night.  He was 60.  It is a very sad deal and made me think about my own parents' death someday.  Hard to think about living without that support around. I'm still processing.

PS: Do you like my new picture?  I call it "Crazy Sarah".  I took it while hiking in Colorado.  I felt crazy, wild, free.  So maybe that's the me I want to be for a bit.  Hmmm.  I just came from a play therapy conference that was very experiential so I'm feeling less inhibited and more daring for sure.
